明年是 Charles Dickens 誔生二百年紀念。BBC 為此有很多相關的演出,例如前幾天播出的 A Tale of Two Cities.
其實有聲書是一個很方便的方式代替閱讀。除了時間上的彈性,及它通常被改編成較現代。少了厚厚的書,少了生澀的單字,卻多了活潑生動的表演。之前看的 耳讀學習法 的作者,或是成寒,都是聽力的大力推薦者。
好了,回歸這本書。
小時候好像有看過這本書,可惜沒特別的印象。不過,它最有名的二句話常被提及:
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.
It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done. .... It is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.
這故事還是有濃濃的 Charles Dickens 的風格。唯一不太滿意的最後代死的橋段。
雖然讀及聽是被動的學習,但沒有 input,怎會有 output 呢?
